National Day of Prayer

Did you know that you are sitting on a planet that is rotating on its axis at 1,000 miles per hour? And you are circling the sun at speeds approaching 67,000 miles per hour. Here you thought you were just staring at a device.

In a book about prayer, Mark Batterson shares these thoughts and issues a challenge. We never lose sleep because we worry that God will forget to keep the planets in orbit, yet we keep from asking him daily about the things that DO keep us awake. We have many examples of prayer in the Bible, but we also have it in our own lives and the lives of our friends.

This Thursday at 7 pm, we are excited about the opportunity to lean in to a time of prayer and we would love for you to join us.

It is fitting that our National Day of Prayer occurs in the midst of what we all are experiencing, and Metro Senior Pastor, Paul Westbrook, will be utilizing this as a time for encouragement and prayer that will cover the current global situation, but will also address the struggles we are all personally facing.

In these days of heightened feelings of uncertainty, we need God’s presence and power even more than ever before. We believe this is an opportunity in the life of our Metro family for us to trust God with our future. The bottom line is that prayer works. God loves to talk with His children and we know that ultimately God is capable of more than we could ask or imagine!
